Miquela has been a dance educator, choreographer, and competition judge for over a decade. As the Owner, Founder and Director of Kohesion Dance Center, she is committed to inspiring confidence, strong technique, and a lifelong love of dance. In addition to directing KDC, she travels nationwide judging dance competitions and teaching for conventions.

Her award-winning choreography has earned numerous special awards, top overall honors, and choreography recognitions at regional and national competitions. Her dancers were featured on the cover of the Breakout National Dance Competition 2023 program. Miquela was also interviewed by Inside Dance Magazine at The Dance Honors in Chicago. 

Miquela has trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and cultural styles including Flamenco, West African, Hula, and Capoeira. She trained with NYCDA and Broadway Dance Center and was a successful competitive dancer.

She graduated from the Performing Arts Academy in 2015, where she studied dance, kinesiology, dance history, vocal music, and acting. She later earned an A.A. in Dance from Ocean County College, where she served as Dance Club President, and also studied on-camera acting and runway at John Casablancas Modeling & Career Center.

Miquela continues to expand her education through classes and workshops in New York City and Philadelphia. She believes that if you can dream it, you can do it, and is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of dancers.

Aly has always had a special place in her heart for dance.  Since the age of 3, she has been putting in the work to become the passionate dancer that she is today and is ready to share that passion with aspiring dancers. She has been trained in Musical Theater, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Hip-Hop, Modern, Ballet, Pointe, Acrobatics, and a variety of cultural styles, including African, Mexican Folk, Flamenco, Classical Indian, and Capoeira.  Aly has trained under Miss Miquela‘s instruction for many years and is an award-winning competition dancer who continues to enrich her dance education.

  In addition to conventions and studio classes, Aly attended the Grunin Performing Arts Academy for her four years of high school to expand her knowledge of dance and other performing arts.  While there, she performed in many Nutcrackers, showcases, was a member of Performance Troupe and the role of Angie Dickinson in the musical “The Prom”. Attending GPAA brought Aly many great opportunities, including being enrolled in a dual credit program which allowed her to obtain her Associate of Arts in Dance Performing Arts. Aly will be enhancing her dance career by moving to Manhattan to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), as a Dance Theater major.

Leilani’s love for the performing arts began as soon as she could walk, stepping into her first ballet and tap classes at just four years old. Since then, she has grown into a dynamic and versatile performer, training extensively in Jazz, Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Tap, Ballet and Musical Theater. By age seven, Leilani was already competing as a soloist on the competitive dance circuit.

Her passion for growth has taken her to renowned dance conventions, where she’s trained with industry icons like Ray Leeper, Travis Wall, Alex Wong, Autumn Miller, and Lane Napper. She has also received one-on-one mentorship from elite professionals Hannah Douglass and Brittany Parks.

In addition to dance, Leilani has starred in several musical theater productions and was honored with the role of Dance Captain for Mean Girls: The Musical just before her senior year. Currently, she brings characters to life as a scare-actor at Six Flags Great Adventure. With Broadway being her goal, Leilani continues to train and perform with unshakable dedication and heart.
